About me

I'm Laura

I was a kid with a sketchbook in hand, paint on her jeans and pretty dreams in her head. Design has taken countless forms in my life and it's in pretty much everything I do. Compulsive design, if you will.

I started out as a traditional media illustrator, vowing emphatically that I could never, would never be happy behind a computer screen for life. I took a summer job as a data entry clerk after becoming disheartened by what seemed to be popular in the art world. Something high brow, intellectual and completely inaccessible for most people outside of the art community. So in my grey cubicle, I to searched ways my art background could be used in ways that helped people in real life ways. I found a new world in UI/UX design and a love for front end development that merged her creativity with her need to build tangible things people could interact with. I've become a creative jack-of-all trades, focusing on UX/UI design, concept art, game design and anywhere else that sparks an interest.

When I'm not glued to my computer screens, you’ll find me:

playing a cozy games while my husband fights orcs beside me. pending time with my chickens in the garden I made or restoring my 1870s home in small-town Ontario.

  • treasure-hunting in antique shops
  • buying toys for my 5 year old daughter that I actually want to play with
  • playing a cozy farming games while my husband fights orcs beside me
  • Buying seed packets online while watching Gardener's World like I'm retired, growing plants from seed and then forgetting to water them
  • Bribing my chickens with treats to get them more interested in giving hugs
